3 Alternatives desserts that won’t make you bloated or gassy

Did you know that we are GENETICALLY PRONE to our taste preferences?!? So while some people are more prone to bitter or sour, you can also be born with a sweet tooth.

And one of the biggest issues my clients have is figuring out how to make healthy swaps, especially when it comes to dessert.

So many desserts cause gas and bloating likely caused by the overload of dairy, sugar, and refined oils. But there such thing as a “healthy” dessert. I mean, it’s all relative but when you substitute real fructose from real fruit instead of high fructose corn syrup or refined white sugar, yeah, you can definitely say that is a healthier choice!

Here are three of my favorite quick, easy, and allergy-friendly “dessert” recipes that won’t make you bloated or gassy:

Chocolate-filled Raspberries (gluten-free, dairy-free, soy-free, tree nut, and peanut-free)– Hands down, two of my favorite combination. TBH, fruit-dipped chocolate always has my vote. Here’s an easy recipe from Sugar and Charm for chocolate-filled raspberries. And to keep allergy friendly, I recommend Enjoy Life dark chocolate chips, they are free from soy which is hard to find in chocolate these days.

Spiced Fruit Bake (gluten-free, dairy-free, soy-free, tree nut optional, and peanut-free) – This type of dessert is SO easy to make, it’s a chop-and-dump, my favorite. No measuring. Plus, you can alter it to your liking – add some dairy-free So Delicious Coconut ice cream to kick it up a notch. Here is a great recipe for spiced fruit bake from Cotter Crunch

Whole Food Dole Whip (gluten-free, dairy-free, soy-free, tree nut-free, peanut-free)– Basically pineapple “nice cream” and so much healthier than what is served at Disney. This 4 ingredient dessert from Living Well Mom just needs a quick blend in the Vitamix (or food processor) and you’re good to go. We have also used mango and strawberry with great success….and my kids always sneak in a bit of extra honey because, kids.

Just because you “eat healthy” doesn’t mean you have to forego the sweet stuff. You have so many more options than that pastry or dairy-filled delight (that is going to make you clear a room). Being healthy doesn’t have to be hard, y’all. Sign up for my email to get more healthy recipes and simple health and wellness tips.
