THERE ARE TWO TYPES OF PEOPLE IN THIS WORLD....canned cranberry sauce-lovers or those that find canned cranberry sauce repulsive. I was the latter and HATED cranberry sauce until a dear friend of mine from my mid-twenties passed along a recipe that changed. my. life. I didn't even know cranberry sauce came in anything but a can at that point in my life.
Now, that may seem a bit dramatic...but yes, this is THE cranberry sauce that could change everything you know and love about Thanksgiving.

The secret recipe, other than looooove is, you guessed it! Blueberries. Not very "Thanksgiving-y" but damn, they make. this. dish. Frozen, fresh, whatever you can find. This cran-blueberry sauce is the only recipe that I still go old school for and pull out the recipe card (modify slightly over the years to make it "healthier")....I just replace the white sugar with coconut sugar, maple syrup...or add in honey after I take it off the stove.

Never boil honey! It kills all of the good stuff the bees put in there!
Coconut sugar and maple syrup are both low on the Glycemic Index Scale, meaning they won't have quite the effect on your blood sugar. Meaning that this is one less dish to worry about spiking your blood sugar (leave that to the pumpkin pie).
Cranberries have the lowest amount of sugar than most other fruit, only 4g of sugar per cup of berries!
Being healthy doesn't have to be hard and this cran-blueberry recipe proves just that!
