What does health & wellness mean to you?
Does it JUST mean eating right and exercising? Well, if that's all your focusing on for your health then you are missing a big piece of the puzzle. Diet and exercise are a small part of being healthy, but being healthy encompasses so much more than food and movement. It’s: Mental health
Basically, all of the other “stuff” in your life – When was the last time you took a look at “all of the other stuff” and asked yourself what you wanted out of them?
Are you happy with them?
How can you make them better?
Are you struggling with anxiety and depression? What are you doing about it?
Feeling lost or like you don't have a sense of purpose? What are you doing in regards to spiritual growth?
Are your finances stressing you out? What have to done to get them under control?
Is your mindset fixed, telling you “what’s the point in even trying?” You CAN change your mindset and you’ll find life starts getting easier when you do.
Are you in an unhealthy relationship? What steps are you taking to change your scenario? ONLY YOU can change your scenario.
Do you hate your job? What are you doing to either learn to enjoy it more OR have you ever stopped complaining long enough to do something about it?
Point is, well, there are two points to this: 1) Health is more than just diet and exercise, it’s a delicate balance of all areas of your life and 2) YOU have the power to change yourself but you have to want to change. You have to take that first step.
When was the last time you reflected on your current state? Sat down and journaled about it? Here are a few journal prompts:
Where are you feeling out of balance in your life these days?
When was the last time you took a moment to reflect on your overall health and wellness?
Where are you thriving? Where it is lacking in your life?
and most importantly WHY DO YOU WANT TO BE HEALTHY?!? What does that mean to you?
What does that look like to you?
How does your life look different?
WHY do you want to make changes?
Are you willing to make changes to see changes? That's the only way to change, you know.
Being healthy is simply crowding out old habits with new ones and sticking to them. It's changing thought patterns, changing schedules, changing mindset - it's a lot of change, but it doesn't have to be hard. It just has to be intentional and consistent.
